Richmond (ISP) – The NG9-1-1 migration project is beginning to pick up steam! There are now 62 requests for funding. That’s 50% of PSAPs. We even have 8 connection diversity projects in process.

Whether you are directly involved in the project or just interested in its progress, we have several resources to keep you up to date.

The NG9-1-1 Deployment page has a summary of the project and important resources for localities.

Our Project Dashboard maps out the project across the Commonwealth, providing more detailed information.

The are several important links for the GIS aspect of the project like overview information about NG9-1-1 GIS Data Provisioning and Maintenance, Virginia NG9-1-1 Boundaries Maps line segments, guidelines for the PSAP Boundary project, and even a whole page of general Virginia NG9-1-1 GIS Resources where you can find important information on the GIS Report Cards issued by VGIN among other information.

Finally, the 9-1-1 Services Board is reviewing the project on a regular basis so you’ll want to keep up with their regular meetings. The Board is using the PSAP Grant Program as the funding mechanism for the project.

Take some time to review these links. We recommend bookmarking them for future reference.

As always, if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact your Regional Coordinator.
