Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) new student ambassador program places an emphasis on developing the next generation’s emergency management workforce. Our short certificate program is designed to provide college students with the opportunity to learn about emergency management, gain meaningful contacts in the field, start official emergency management education, and offer an opportunity to interact with various branches of the agency. Students will meet other fellow ambassadors from schools throughout Virginia.
We foster a culture of mentoring, continuous learning, and team orientation that will be evident from your interaction with agency mentors. Our goal is to build a roadmap that broadens your interest and network in emergency management careers, defines your academic focus, and grows your learning experiences.
Students will receive a certificate at completion of the program, and be asked to complete a brief survey.
