Older Americans Month
May
OVERVIEW
May is Older Americans Month. It was established in 1963 when President John F. Kennedy and members of the National Council of Senior Citizens wanted to acknowledge the contributions of past and current older persons to our country, in particular those who defended our country. VDEM will be celebrating older Americans by sending out important preparedness tips that might be helpful to seniors.
